The wire for verdicts, settlements, and plaintiff-side legal news.

Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 August 2026

The short version

PlaintiffWire sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts or trackers. We cannot follow you around the internet, because we have not built anything that would let us. The only personal information we hold is what you deliberately hand us: an email address for the digest or alerts, or the details on a release you submit.

What we collect

Email digest. Your email address and an unsubscribe token. Nothing else.

Case alerts. Your email address, an unsubscribe token, and the filters you choose — category, jurisdiction, tort or product, keyword, and minimum amount.

Submitted releases. The firm or organisation name, website, contact email, and the release itself including any image. Everything except the contact email is published. The contact email is used to reach you about the release and is not displayed.

Firm pages. Firm name, website, biography, logo, and a contact email, where a firm claims a page.

Contact form. Your name, email, reason, and message. This is emailed to the news desk. It is not written to our database.

Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, records standard request data including IP address, for security and abuse prevention. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

We count how often each release is viewed. That count is attached to the article, not to any reader.

What we do not collect

No cookies. No advertising or analytics tags. No tracking pixels. No fingerprinting. No third-party embeds. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone, for any purpose, ever.

Who else handles it

Cloudflare hosts the site and stores its data. Resend delivers our email. Both process this information on our behalf and for no other purpose. We publish new article addresses to search engines through IndexNow, which receives web addresses only — never anything about you.

Firms named in our rankings

The rankings compile law firm names and publicly announced results from public sources. That is information about businesses, not private individuals. If you are a firm and want an entry corrected or removed, ask and we will do it.

Your choices

Every digest and alert email carries a one-click unsubscribe or delete link. You can also email us to be removed from anything, to ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted. We will not ask you to justify the request.

How long we keep it

Subscriptions and alerts are kept until you cancel them. Published releases form part of the public record of the wire and remain unless we agree to remove one. Contact form messages live in our email, subject to ordinary mailbox retention.

Children

This site is intended for legal professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18.
