What we publish
Two different kinds of content appear here, and they are labelled differently on every page.
News desk briefs are written by PlaintiffWire from reporting published elsewhere. Every brief names its source and links to the original. They are summaries in our own words. They are not original reporting, and they are not a substitute for reading the source.
Press releases are submitted by law firms and organisations and published substantially as received, after a review for relevance. They carry a Press Release label and a note stating they are not PlaintiffWire editorial reporting. We do not verify the claims made inside them.
Rankings and data
The rankings are compiled automatically from public firm announcements, the SetCalc verdict dataset, and releases published on the wire. Firm names and amounts are extracted programmatically. They are not independently verified, and some firm attributions are inferred rather than confirmed. If an entry is wrong, tell us and we will correct or remove it.
Ownership and disclosure
PlaintiffWire is published by Jacob Malherbe, who also operates Mass Tort Ad Agency and PlatinumProfile. Both sell services to plaintiff law firms, which means both are potential subjects of coverage on this wire.
Any release from a business under common ownership carries an explicit note saying so, on the release itself. We would rather state the relationship plainly than have a reader discover it.
